O tempo verbal Passado Simples do Inglês não é muito complicado, mas exige muita prática para que todos os verbos fiquem armazenados na nossa memória.
Quanto mais exercícios você fizer, mas fácil será para lembrá-los. 
Outro detalhe que é importante é a pronuncia dos verbos regulares no passado, aqueles que terminam com ED, lembra? Existem 3 pronuncias diferentes para esses verbos regulares, por exemplo:

to work- worked (esse tem um som de T no final e você não deve pronunciar a letra E)

To vist- visited (esse tem som de ÊD, você deve pronunciar as letras E e D)

to play- played (esse tem som de D no final e você não deve pronunciar a letra E)

Aqui vai um macete bem interessante!

a) Para muitos verbos regulares que terminam nas 
consoantes T e D, ˈbasta apenas pronunciar o -ED como /ɪd/. (ÊD)
b) Para os outros verbos, os que não terminam com as consoantes T e D, mantenha a pronúncia original do verbo (infinitivo) e não pronuncie o "E" do sufixo.

Verbs:

have -  had =  tener
be -  was-were=  ser o estar
send- sent = enviar
go - went= ir
give- gave = dar
arrive- arrived= llegar
steel- stole= robar (le a uno)
walk - walked = caminar
realize- realized= darse cuenta
forget- forgot= olvidar
feel -felt = sentir (se)

(there are ten verbs in past tense in this reading)

Instructions:

  1. Please read the story and try to understand the main ideas.
  2. Underline the verbs in past tense
  3. Answer the questions below  for comprehension (wh-h-questions and “true or false”)
  4. Write your own story about a bad day or nice day you had yesterday. Use the questions indicated to help you organize your ideas.
A BAD DAY

Carlos had a terrible day yesterday.  First, yesterday morning he was late for work. His boss was very angry. At work, he sent the wrong e-mail, and now he is in trouble.

After work, Carlos went to eat something. The soup they gave him at “Tom’s Diner” was cold and horrible. Carlos arrived home at 10 pm last night. He walked home because someone stole his money. When he arrived home, he realized that he forgot to pay his rent. Now his landlord is very upset. He also forgot to call his girlfriend last night, so now she doesn’t want to talk to him.

Poor Carlos! He was very sad yesterday, but today he is very happy because it’s a new day!
