Learn English - Video Activity with Karate Kid Scene

If you are an intermediate English student, you can't miss the activity that Teacher Malena has prepared for you! You will learn some Phrasal Verbs by watching a video segment and then you will be able to practise a conversation. The video is a short segment of “The Karate Kid” movie. We hope you can learn, practise and enjoy the final message that the video wants to show us!

Do you remember what a Phrasal Verb is?

A Phrasal Verb is a verb that consists of two parts:

- The first part is always a short verb like: give, go, come, get, etc.

- The second part is a preposition like: in, on, up, down, etc.

I. Watch a video segment of “The Karate Kid” movie and observe all the Phrasal Verbs the man uses in this particular context.

Tip! The best way to learn Phrasal Verbs is in context, in dialogues, in conversations, please don't waste your time memorising phrasal verbs from a list ;)

II. After watching the video, can you make some sentences using the Phrasal Verbs we learnt by watching the video?
